The Circuit Module A44 is the first mixer stage (First Mixer) for the PRC-77 / RT-841 radio set. It is a core assembly in the receiver path, responsible for converting the incoming signal to the first intermediate frequency.

A defect in the A44 often leads to a complete loss of reception ("deaf" receiver) or extremely weak signals, as the initial frequency mixing process is impaired.
